The Old Bakery is warm and cosy self-catering cottage which has been newly renovated to the highest standard, keeping many of its original features, creating a charming home from home. It is ideally located in the beautiful village of Ashford-in-the-Water, with Monsal Dale, Bakewell and Chatsworth just a few miles away making it excellent for walking, cycling, riding and sight seeing around the beautiful Peak District. The ancient picturesque village itself boasts two excellent country pubs, a wonderful tearoom and gift shop, a stunning restaurant with a riverside setting, a beautiful church and a village store/delicatessen The property will comfortably sleep four persons and there are two cosy double bedrooms with wardrobes, large mirrors, high quality hair dryers, etc. There is a shared family bathroom which has a magnificent white suite with cream slate floor ltiles and high quality chrome fittings. Including a ladder style heated towel rail, rain effect shower above a large bath, toilet and basin. Downstairs there is a large, open-plan lounge and dining room contains a six seated dining table, two large, comfy sofas, a 32” flat screen TV (with integrated DVD and Freeview) and a period fireplace with a featured fire. In addition to this there is the beautifully restored kitchen and utility which is fully fitted and features an exposed beam above the 'baker's oven'. It has delightful courtyard views and a bifold doors leading to the attractive pathed patio area outside (perfect for al fresco dinning). The rear extension was competed in 2017, provide a downstairs toilet as well as a washer and dryer enclosed behind fitted louvre doors. Guest can also enjoy unlimited free wifi and all bed linen and luxury towels are provided. To the rear of the property there also the village recreational ground with a well maintained childrens play park and sports field. PARKING - There is free onstreet parking directly in front of the cottage, which means you can park right outside the front door. The free parking runs the entire length of the road. The cottage is let out to our guests as a self-catering property. We (the owners) are available by email and phone only if required. Our preference is to communicate by emails, and we are more than happy to make recommendations of things to do and places to eat etc...

Cottage situated in a a picturesque village. Eating facilities within walking distance. Well equipped cottage with lovely little courtyard. Very enjoyable stay.

Stayed for a fortnight this time and so pleased that we did. Comfy cottage with everything you need. Both pubs in the village do great food as does the Crispin Inn in nearby Great Longstone. Thank you for the wine & chocs Liam they went...More
