This delightful Grade II listed cottage (part of an old Stocking Mill) nestling in the picturesque Peak District benefits from being only a few steps away from the village store, tearoom & some cracking pubs! Cycle on the Monsal Trail or walk in the stunning grounds at Chatsworth House, both are easily accessible and glorious views await. A visit to the nearby market town of Bakewell to sample the infamous Bakewell Pudding, is also a must! Our aim has been to make The Bobbin, an extremely comfortable 'home from home' - enjoy! The cottage is split over three floors and comprises: Ground Floor: Kitchen, Sitting room with dining area 2nd floor: Master bedroom with double bed 3rd floor: Twin room with two single beds and family bathroom. The laundry room houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. We love having families to stay but please be advised, our listing states the cottage is for 4 people. If you are a family of 5 (ie 4 people + a baby) the space available may not suit your needs. This property has steep stairs and may not be suitable for small children and the elderly.More

Interaction with guests
We like to meet our guests to hand over keys and run through a few essentials. On the rare occasions, we are away or Guests are arriving after 9pm, there is a Key Safe. We have a 'hands-off approach' but live in a nearby village, 10/15 minutes away, and will, with the exception of our own holidays, be available should our guests need to contact us. In our absence, we usually have a Housekeeper who will fulfill this role.

Well presented, lovely cottage in a beautiful location. The stairs to the bedrooms and bathroom are very steep with restricted head room so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues or tall people, although our 6' 4" son managed to duck well! Other than that...More

Excellent central location, good for walking and cycling, close to the Monsal trail. Also close to some historic and interesting houses. Cosy, clean, and well equipped and just a short walk to a couple of pubs and the local shop.

Very cosy comfortable cottage. Well appointed. Tea/coffee milk bread etc much appreciated on arrival. Owners very welcoming. Ideally located in picturesque sleepy village, local shop, pub and cafe a stones throw away. We would highly recommend. (Note, steep staircase unsuitable for the less able).

About the neighbourhood
The cottage is in the heart of the village and there are two great pubs, both serving very good food, a well stocked village store with a Deli, a pretty tearoom and the Church and river within less than two minutes walk. The Monsal Trail is also on the doorstep which is fantastic for walking and a lovely café, book and gift store at Hassop Station - cycle hire is also available here. Chatsworth House, Farmyard & Adventure Playground, Haddon Hall and Tissington Hall are well worth visiting. Surrounding towns include Bakewell, Matlock and Buxton.
How to get there
The nearest main station is Chesterfield; by taxi it will take 20/30 minutes to get to the cottage.
