About the neighbourhood
St Michael is a picturesque town found in the heart of the Lungau Holiday Region of Austria and is considered to be the centre for Tourism. The small town boasts a good variety of Bars, Shops, Cafes, Bakeries, Supermarkets and Banks, whilst maintaining it's very traditional Austrian facade. Here you can enjoy year round festivals and celebrations including Autumns Samson Mann, or the magical Winter Advent Market with St Nikolaus and his Krampus (a creature you would not like to get on the wrong side of!). In Spring be witness to or join those climbing the various May Trees erected throughout the towns. In Summer join any one of the Wine, Food or Music Festivals, Childrens Events, watch Bycycle Races, observe (or join in) the huge Samsonman Running Race, classic car events, Motorbi... more
Getting around
The Lungau is very easy to navigate by all modes of transport. For convenience we recommend travelling by car. The valley is supportive with good parking places and decent roads. The A10 is the main motorway route out of the valley and connects the Lungau easily to the rest of Austria. If you would prefer not to travel by car, the public transport system in Austria is very reliable. Bus and train connections are available from all of the major airports and cities. Routes vary according to season. Within the valley you can expect more specific routes including specialised season plans such a free ski bus during the winter months.

Haus Bellevue can be found on the outskirts of St Michael in the heart of the Lungau Holiday Region of Austria. The accommodation is easy to reach just a short drive from the A10 Autobahn, 100km and about 1 ½ hours drive from Salzburg city. The town of St Michael is easy to reach from all directions. Salzburg is the most popular airport, but Klagenfurt is a similar distance away and a very good alternative. Further afield Munich airport is worth looking at, roughly 3 ½ hours drive but often offering a greater choice of flights. A car is recommended for both ease of travel and navigating the large valley. However it is relatively easy to reach the property and to explore the valley by means of public transport.
