La Tuilerie Rose Cottage

Rose cottage front garden
1 of 10Rose cottage front garden
Holiday Rental House -
1 Bedroom , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 2
Mayenne, Mayenne, Pays de la Loire
Rose cottage is one of two 300 year old, but newly renovated, stone cottages at La Tuilerie Gites. Newly renovated, we offer a cottage which meets modern building standards, yet full of ancient charm. Although we offer two cottages they do not overlook each other at all, and they share a half-acre garden.

Nearby is the gallo-roman town of Jublains, the River Mayenne for cycling and walking, and numerous medieval towns complete with chateaux.

For those who enjoy fine cuisine we have prepared a list of the selection of very good local restaurants; wide-ranging to suit all tastes and budgets.

Although a short stay, this was the most instantly relaxing and quiet haven. Stunning stone Gites and surrounding landscape. Very highly recommended and will certainly be back

About the neighbourhood
The Mayenne department is dominated by the River Mayenne - the main towns all lie on it. It has an excellent and well-maintained tow-path meaning you can walk or cycle for miles (all the way to the River Loire if you wish..).

The area is largely dairy farming and so provides not only peace and quiet, but also excellent dairy products. From La Tuilerie you can cycle to the well presented ruins of the gallo-roman town of Jublains, whose excellent museum shows a film in English.
Getting around
The Mayenne is a great area for cycling, including on the quiet roads, beside the river on the well-maintained towpath, or on the disused railway line. There are also many lovely walks.

We are just off the D207 between Belgeard to the North and Montourtier to the South. Whichever direction you arrive from, we are just South of the Foret de Bourgon, on the West side of the D207 - you will see some white gates and we are through those gates and the first property on the Left.
