Moray is blessed with a favourable climate. Sheltered from the wet weather and midges of the west coast, the cold winds and sea mists of the North Sea, the area enjoys a dry, sunny and relatively mild climate, ideal for recreational activities. The surrounding countryside is excellent for a wide range of leisure activities, sports, visitor attractions, country shops and quality restaurants. Whisky Trail Speyside is an area renowned for its Whisky, with numerous distilleries throughout the region and the 70-mile long Malt Whisky Trail follows the River Spey through the northern foothills of the Grampians in Scotland. The area also holds a fun annual Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival each year. Aberlour Distillery is located
