Perfect hosts welcomed us with fresh home made bread. Property clean bright modern, but very comfy. Perfect escape but only a few miles from Carmarthen. Only stayed few days but will definitely be back.

This modernly decorated barn is situated at the edge of Brechfa forest in the beautiful rolling welsh countryside. It is pleasantly remote and very peaceful. The lanes to the barn are single track. It is close to Carmarthen town, and ideally situated to explore the...More

About the neighbourhood
We have friendly neighbours, great views, and a lot of sheep, cows, and wildlife. The valley is quiet but with working forestry and farms around. We walk and bike (mountain and road) and horse ride in the forests and quiet roads around the house and further afield. There are highly rated mountain bike trails (Brechfa forest close by).

It is an area where you will hear lots of Welsh being spoken. You will also meet other people who have moved in to live here from elsewhere. There is good local produce plus good places to eat it. Brechfa (3 miles) has a good community shop.

Beaches are well worth the drive - nearest 12 miles - for a brisk walk or an evening picnic. Castles, small towns, hills and rivers - our guests love them.
Getting around
Cars and/or bikes are fine for getting around. Hills are steep. Think electric bike if you are into that? Public transport - there is a Carmarthen/Aberystwyth bus service (T1) which passes the end of the road - some three miles away - have a look at https://www.traveline.cymru for details. We can collect visitors upon arrival from this bus or from Carmarthen railway station and deliver back at the end of your visit - subject to our being available and would be happy to do so. You must contact us in advance to make the necessary arrangements.
