Water is approximately 3' deep off the dock. The lake bottom is a mix of sand and pebble and silt. Weed cover varies according to conditions, but it's generally good for swimming. Close-By Attractions Peterborough Lift Lock National Historic Site/Lock 21. This is the highest hydraulic lift lock in the world, simultaneously raising and lowering boats a distance of 20 metres.
