About the neighbourhood
We are a 20 minute walk from the village where you will find a variety of shops, restaurants, snackettes, Post Office, gas station, and churches. There are also a couple of restaurants withing a five minute walk of the cottage ! If you want to hike into the hills there are a variety of walks/paths to choose from . Some down to the sea , others up to the hills where you often see flocks of parrots and incredible views of the mountains. There are rivers to swim in, waterfalls to duck into and a variety of things to do. Not far away you can go horseback riding, scuba dive, snorkel etc. The Kalinago Territory is a 30 minute drive so not far for an afternoon visit.
The local buses are easy to use and quite inexpensive if you wish to travel to some of the other villages. If you want to go to some of the more isolated view points you would need to rent a car or hire a car and driver for the day. This is often a very good thing to do at the beginning of the trip as it gives you an idea of the time it takes to traverse the island and everyone gets to relax and enjoy the breathtaking scenery !
Car not needed
How to get there
Airport: Douglas Charles Airport (Melville Hall): 11.0 km
Ferry: Roseau Ferry Port: 58.0 km
We are 7 miles or about a 20 minute drive north of the Douglas Charles (Melville Halll) Airport in Marigot. We can send you precise directions before your arrival if you wish. If you rent a car you can arrange to pick it up at the airport or if you are coming in by boat you can arrange for a car to be ready near the ferry dock in Roseau. Parking is available for your vehicle in front of your cottage. We can also arrange an airport taxi for you if you do not want a car. The taxi will also take you to the village to do a bit of grocery shopping before you come to the cottage ! The local buses pass on the main road just a short walk from the cottages so it is quite easy to get around from Sea Cliff.
