Welcome to Honu Kai Arribada! Two homes. Two swimming pools. 5 bedrooms. Sleeps 11. Tucked away in the jungle in Uvita, Costa Rica. Guests routinely see amazing wildlife, birds, monkeys, etc. Guests will meet with an Osa Property Management representative at check-in and at check-out. Osa Property Management will also be available from 7 am - 9 pm via group chat. Osa Property Management’s Concierge and Vacation Planner team will contact you after you have made your reservation. We will assist with making any necessary transportation arrangements from Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose (SJO), or from one of the two local regional airports in the area - Palmar Sur or Quepos - to the property in Uvita. Our goal is to make your trip to Costa Rica enjoyable and as relaxing as you want it to be. Uvita is one of the Central Pacific's best kept secrets. The beaches are beautiful, the hills are lush, wildlife is abundant and its the perfect place to surf, horseback ride or just relax. Add a handful of great restaurants and there's really just one thing missing from Uvita: crowds. If you are looking for a beautiful beach destination that is far less developed than Manuel Antonio, Uvita is a fantastic alternative. The highlight is Marino Ballena National Park, featuring the famous sandy "Whale Tail" where migrating humpback whales can be seen just offshore. You can whale watch, dolphin watch or snorkel. Uvita also makes a great base for exploring Dominical (12 miles North) which is a fun, funky hippie and counterculturist enclave with great shops, dining, live music, candlelight yoga, spas, bars and beach. The tiny town of Ojochal is 9 miles to the South and is know as one of the best foodie town in Costa Rica. Ojochal also offers easy access to Playa Ventanas, a small and beautiful beach famous for its sea caves. For those who enjoy golfing, the southern pacific’s only golf course, Osa Golf Course, is an easy 25 minute drive south. The home is secluded and away from the noise and activities in Uvita, but only a short drive away. Guests will meet with an Osa Property Management representative at check-in and at check-out. After check-in, Guests will have unrestricted 24-hour access to the property. Honu Kai Arribada is a gated property with two distinct buildings, located about 50 yards apart from each other: 1) Three bedroom home nestled on a multi-acre jungle property. Guests will love the wildlife that is seen and heard daily (including howler monkeys, toucans, iguanas, geckos). 2) Two bedroom Casita overlooking a Costa Rica jungle. Together, this property has 5 bedrooms. The main floor of the home has a large and modern kitchen, living room and two bedrooms. Bedroom #1 is air conditioned and has a queen bed. Bedroom #2 has a bunk bed with a Queen bed on the bottom and single on top, which is great for kids or parents with kids. Bedroom #3 is located upstairs. This beautiful and spacious suite encompasses the entire second floor. This Suite has its own private bathroom, king size bed, private patio/balcony overlooking the pool and sunset Pacific Ocean views. A perfect place for adults to enjoy some private time. The open floor plan of the kitchen-living room space flows easily out to the covered patio space, overlooking the pool. This provides a great space all year, whether in the rainy season or in the dry season, to enjoy your morning coffee while listening to the howler monkeys, toucans and scarlet macaws and views of the pool and the ocean. The pool space also has a 'rancho' - an outdoor covered cooking area with grill and counter space, outdoor shower and half-bathroom. If you are not out on an excursion, tour or at the beach, most of the time will probably be spent by the pool-patio-rancho area of the home. The Casita has floor to vaulted ceiling windows in the living room-kitchen-eating area. Each bedroom has air conditioning. Honu Kai Arribada is a private property with NO SHARED SPACES. Guests will have the exclusive use of the entire property and the swimming pool. Pack n'Play or Baby Travel Bed can be rented for an additional $50 USD (plus VAT) fee and must be requested at least 48 hours in advance A 4x4 vehicle is required to access the property. Uvita does not have UBER and private taxis are not always available. Please contact Osa Property Management if you would like to secure private transportation (rental vehicle) during your time at this wonderful property, and/or transportation to/from San Jose International Airport (or any other airport). Honu Kai is Hawaiian for 'green sea turtle' - one of nature’s most beautiful and graceful animals, and also a symbol for good luck, and an arribada, is Spanish for arrival, is the mass nesting
