Surf boards, stand up paddle boards and kayaks can be rented from Discovery Surf who operate out of the car park close to the Venus Cafe. We gladly welcome well behaved dogs and as the South Hams is also walking country, you are spoilt for choice whether you want to walk across the moors, follow the coastline or explore river estuaries. Several good walks start from the public foot path across the road from the cottage. A short walk away from the cottage in St Annes Chapel is The Pickwick Inn (an Italian restaurant and bar) and the local shop, which sells all your basic essentials. Please note that Tinkers Cottage is a 'no smoking' property.More

Interaction with guests
Guests will be sent directions and the code for the key safe several weeks before they arrive. The key for Tinkers Cottage is obtained from a key safe that located close to the front door. The code for the key safe is included in with the directions. Our caretaker lives locally and is on hand to sort out any problems a guest may encounter. We also have a detailed Information Folder at Tinkers Cottage giving guests information on how the appliances all work, explaining the hot water and central heating, as well as including lots of information on what to do and where to eat while staying at Tinkers Cottage. I am also more than happy to talk to guests prior to them arriving at Tinkers Cottage with any questions they may have.

We stayed at Tinkers Cottage for 4 nights and have to say it’s the ‘best equipped’ cottage we have ever stayed in. Also it was very comfortable and homely. Perfect base to explore the beautiful coastline and little villages. Bigbury beach is brilliant.
