Located in the Portes du Soleil, south facing apartment in Petit Châtel (1280 mtr alt, approx. 2 km from Châtel centre) sleeps 4 adults or 2 adults up to 3 children, with glorious views of Châtel valley. Parking space, garage (for mountain bikes) and a large external cupboard as well as ample cupboard space inside. WiFi, British FreeSat TV as well as French TV. Frequent free bus service to town centre and ski lift stations stops right outside. The nearest ski lift is a few minutes bus ride away.

Small place (especially bedroom) but cozy, very functional, great view from the balcony!!! Linen service not very convenient as they imposed timing for pick-up (until noon - well, not acceptable if one is planning to arrive in the evening.....). We ended up buying our own...More

There is a £200 security deposit which will be refunded after your visit once the key has been returned, there are no reported breakages and it has been left in a cleaned state.

Price includes: electricity, water charges, WiFi, cleaning of communal areas only, snow clearance in parking area in winter and local tourist tax. As is the custom in France, you should provide your own linen and the apartment must be cleaned when you leave using the cleaning equipment provided. However, our managing agent in Chatel is able to offer a cleaning service on your departure (by prior arrangement only) for 70 Euros. They can also arrange for linen, quotation for linen on request.

UK Satellite TV available, so you can keep up with events back home, watch your favorite soap or find out the sports results.

About the neighbourhood
Châtel is the most Swiss-like of all the French resorts, whose combination of tradition and modernism welcomes you in an exceptional setting. Situated at the end of the picturesque and rural Abondance valley and just a stone's throw from the Swiss border between Lake Geneva and the Mont Blanc, Châtel is a charming haut-savoyard village. It is easily accessible from Geneva airport by motorway (1 hour 30 mins) or by train to Aigle then taxi. Nearby places to visit include: Evian, Chamonix, Annecy, Verbier, Montreux.

In summer there are many mountain trails for walkers and mountain bikers.
Getting around
In season there is a free bus service to the town centre, and some chair lift stations that stops right outside the apartment.

Railway: Aigle: 28.0 km
Ferry: Calais: 816.0 km
If you are flying, you can rent a car at Geneva airport, or take the train from the airport to Aigle then taxi to Châtel. Alternatively I can provide details of companies in the area that provide airport transfers.

If you drive from UK, I can provide routes from Calais - you will need to buy a pass (Vignette) to use the Swiss Motorways.

There is a frequent free bus service that stops right outside the apartment in the summer and winter seasons.
