Stintino

The origins of Stintino date back to 1885 and a settlement of 45 families, prevalently tied down to fishing who came from Asinara Island. Previously, the territory was populated by the distinct shepherds' settlements who used to live in natural shelters.

The village became an autonomous municipality the 10th of August, 1988. The first elections and the appointment of the town council took place in March 1989.

The village is developed inside two inlets where small harbours are situated. They are side by side, the old port called 'Minori' (small) and a new port called 'Mannu' (big).
