Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Worst place we've ever stayed, because the property owner.
This was absolutely, unquestionably the worst experience we've ever had during our travels. The property was okay, but the renter was awful. The property owner was living up stairs. Dogs were barking keeping people awake or waking them up every day and innumerable occurrences of loud pounding footsteps above us. He was constantly shirtless in the back area of the property making everyone uncomfortable to even access that area. Some of the pans, pots and utensils had to be washed before use due to coatings of scrambled eggs remaining on them and general scalded fat/filth on them. The pull out sofa bed was broken. We found an empty beer bottle behind the cushions so it would imply the bedding hadn't been changed or cleaned or it would be easily noticed. We couldn't even get it to open up to use it. He wanted to keep part of the deposit because some of the furniture in the front bedroom was moved in order to have a place to put our luggage. He didn't have any problem when he was told we moved a dresser and found keys that were behind/beside it as well as 2 coins from Guatemala. All he was concerned with was checking to see if those were the keys that were posted on the notices outside offering a reward. The overhead light in the front bedroom didn't work so we only had a cheap wooden table covered with a stained piece or green fabric with a small lamp for that room. That room had a day bed, a random twin bed on a frame, and a 3rd twin from a pull out chair. The other bedroom had a full size bed and a random twin mattress on some generic wooden structure. It certainly was the most awkward and unusual sleeping arrangements we've ever seen. There wasn't 2 bathrooms as it was listed. There was one. If a toilet OUTSIDE under steps counts as a 2nd bathroom, that is absurd, not to mention it looked like there was some sort of security/surveillance camera angled almost directly at it and the back area. He was constantly harassing, looking over our shoulder. We couldn't even use the outside grill without him coming down each time to oversee that we had turned the hoods on as expected by instruction from his label maker printouts that were on everything. He even came down outside to tell us that 11:00 was quiet time when 3 of us were playing marco polo in the tiny pool. What nerve! Even the address listed is wrong (800 not 700)... how can the address be wrong?!?!? Do not sign anything when you arrive. He will attempt to get you to do so. Some set of special terms or rules that he will use to try to keep your deposit. Protect yourself and let trip advisor protect you too so you aren't taken advantage of. If you like being bothered by a random stranger, this is the perfect place for you. We've never ever ever had such an awful experience with a rental property. It was absurd.

I was not surprised to get this review from Amber. Her and her friends damaged my pool and refused to pay $150 for it. TripAdvisor does not take a damage deposit from the guests. If there is damage, it is up to both parties to come to resolution. She refused to pay and therefore left this inaccurate review. I live upstairs of the rental and I take excellent care to maintain it. I respect my guests privacy (there are no cameras) and I do make sure that my property and my neighbors are being respected. I am listed on 3 websites, have rented for over 3 years and have close to one hundred 5 star reviews. I will not go into each of her allegations. She was disrespecting my property before I new it. Read all the other reviews if you want the truth.

Great Experience
My friends and I stayed here for a bachelor party. It was perfect. The outdoor pool and hot tub area was a great place to relax during the day, and the property was only a short cab ride to Bourbon Street. Highly recommended if you are considering travelling with friends.

A HIDDEN GEM
This is such a wonderful place to stay in New Orleans. It is a little slice of ur own private paradise. The house is beautiful and is so clean and enjoyable to be in. The backyard is a nice little getaway with a couch and comfy chairs with a pool and jucuzi for the ultimate relaxing feel after a day of walking and taking in the highlights and amazement of the french quarter. Dan is the host with everything of this house. He will give u little pointers of what to see and do while spending time in New Orleans from where to eat and what music to see. What pubs and clubs to visit and what u have to try while u visit New Orleans. This treasure is a pebble kick away from Magazine st. Stay here. Trust me u wont regret ur decision in doing so. I fell in love with New Orleans and u will too.

What a Great Place to Stay in The Garden District!
Okay, I could go on and on about how awesome it was to stay at this place! First off, it was soooooo clean! very nice to walk into a clean home. Second, There's a relaxing backyard area with a pool and hot tub (we didn't use hot tub being that it was hot outside) but both were clean and very well maintained. Also, the owner Dan couldn't have been more nice and more helpful! He was there for us when we needed him and he was a ghost while we did our own thing. Nice to have such an accommodating owner. Oh yeah, It's so close to Magazine street with all the restaurants and bars and shops. Very cool! you should for sure eat breakfast/lunch/brunch at http://www.atchafalayarestaurant.com Dan recommended it and it was incredible. We were there for a bachelor party and what a great place to come home to after a long day on the bayou looking for alligators! Anyway, A MUST STAY!!! Enjoy when you do!

Dan was an exceptional host, he greeted us upon arrival and made excellent recommendations of things to see and do In NOLA. The house was clean, well appointed and the beds and bedding were extremely comfortable. The pool and jacuzzi made for nice evening relaxing after a long day in the city. A WONDERFUL VACATION WITH WONDERFUL FRIENDS AT A GREAT LOCATION!

Perfect House for our Weekend Trip in NOLA
This rental property was the perfect place for my friends and me to spend our extended weekend in New Orleans. We were a group of seven (including myself) and had a great time. Highlights: 1) Pool and jacuzzi -- a huge win when you're trying to cool off. There's also outdoor speakers for an phone / iPod connection 2) In-unit washer and dryer 3) Clean and updated kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, living area 4) Coffee maker! 5) Wii gaming system (although the controllers needed batteries and we never got around to purchasing some) The house is within walking distance to numerous bars and restaurants on Market St. There's also a Walgreens and grocery store nearby, too, in case you need to buy some essential items. We took a cab to and from French Quarter / Bourbon St. It's around $20 each way, including tip. Not a bad deal at all for a group our size! Things that were not so perfect, but also not a big deal: 1) Few bugs (spiders, cockroaches) 2) The house only has one full bathroom inside. There is a separate bathroom outside as well as an open show. We directed the guys there and they were fine! :) I would highly recommend this place to friends and visitors. The owner is also very friendly and personable. If only it could hold more people!
