We enjoyed our stay very much. Condo was clean and well appointed. The view is absolutely breathtaking from the Lanai. Really enjoyed sitting there and watching the world go by. Only suggestion we have is to leave the porch light on on arrival day. We...More

About the neighbourhood
Sea Mountain is very remote, private without onsite amenities

You may wish to do some food shopping at the city your plane lands to initially get by. Food stores (Safeway & KTA) are well stocked. Grocery stores, drug stores, Kmart (Kona), Wal-Mart (Kona & Hilo), Target (Kona & Hilo) & Costco (Kona) are licensed to offer hard liquor in addition to beer & wine.

Farmers markets (offer a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, local coffee & craft items) are open on Wednesdays in Pahala, Wednesdays & Saturdays in Naalehu. Additional farmers markets occur in communities throughout the island. There is a small grocery store in Pahala which offers limited provisions. Ocean View has 2 markets that offer more food options.
Getting around
A vehicle for transportation is an absolute must.

As mentioned, Sea Mountain condos are located for privacy. 2+ hours from Kailua Kona and 1 hour from Hilo international airports.

The amazing Punaluu Black Sand beach is within walking distance, but the optimal snorkeling and swimming beaches are a 1 hour drive in either direction. It would be a wise purchase of the 'Big Island Revealed' travel book to get the most of your visit. We have one in our condo for guests, but many find it helpful in the planning of their trip.

Sea Mountain is located at: 95-788 Ninole Loop, Pahala HI 96777.

Whether you arrive in Kona (2+ hour drive) or in Hilo (1 hour drive), Sea Mountain is located between milepost 56 & 57 on HWY 11. Nearby towns are Naalehu (8 miles to the South) and Pahala (5 miles to the north). You will receive a courtesy Big Island map from your airline. We have additional maps in our condo, as well as the “Big Island Revealed” book as a helpful resource / reference for your stay on the island.
