About the neighbourhood
Keaau, meaning the area of the water springs. Formerly it was called Oha, in the days when it was the biggest sugar plantation on the Island. Now it is an oasis of peace and quiet within modern day conveniences.

How to get there
Airport: Hilo International Airport: 15.0 km
Directions arriving from Hilo Airport:

At the first intersection with Hwy 11
(Kanoelehua Ave) turn left towards Keaau.

After about 7 miles you arrive at the first intersection to Keaau and Pahoa (bypass road). Skip it and proceed to the second intersection, on which you turn left. You are on Keaau-Pahoa Rd., between the shopping center to your right and the local market to your left. One mile down the road is our house to your right with the gate next to the barricade.

Should you be on the bypass road instead, turn to your right at the second traffic lights around the high school, and you will see the house and the gate.
We are right across the school.
