Holiday Rental House
Red Acre Cottage is the quintessential Vermont country home. The architecture is reminiscent of early 1900s farmhouses from this area. It sits upon a ridge in the heart of Vermont in the Green Mountains. (Please note! Although the TripAdvisor listing says Hancock, the house is actually in Rochester, VT.) Come stay at our cozy yet spacious, rustic yet modern, much-beloved Red Acre Cottage. We're nestled on a scenic ridge in the idyllic town of Rochester, just east of the Green Mountains and right off of Vermont Scenic Byway Route 100, one of the state's prettiest roads. Sugarbush, Killington/Pico, Mad River Glen, Rikert Nordic Center, Suicide Six and Stowe Mtn are all an easy drive away through a bucolic landscape. And at the end of the day, there's nothing better than watching the sun set over the mountains. More

Fantastic house. Stayed here with our two kids for nearly a week and had a wonderful time. So mellow, well appointed, comfortable! Tasteful decoration, lovely yard, idyllic setting. We cooked dinner nearly every night and had all the equipment we needed for elaborate meals--pots, pans,...More

About the neighbourhood
Rochester is right in the heart of Vermont. We think you'll find it to be the epitome of all that people love about the Green Mountain State. It's a short and scenic drive from lots of amazing adventures. 40 minutes from Killington/Pico 45 minutes from Mad River Glen 35 minutes to Sugarbush 90 minutes to Stowe Mountain 20 minutes to Middlebury Snow Bowl/Rikert Nordic Center 35 minutes to Blueberry Hill Inn XCountry ski trails 5 minutes to the White River for world class trout fishing and the best swimming hole in the world!
Getting around
It's less than 3 hours to Red Acre Cottage from Boston. The shortest route will take you through Bethel and up and over Bethel Mountain Road. If you need provisions, we recommend taking 107E to 100N and heading up through Rochester, where there's a market, gas station, hardware store, and probably anything else you might need. Any excuse to stop at Sandy's for a coffee and whatever wonderfulness you find there that day. From Rochester Center it's just 1.8 miles north on 100 to Quarry Hill Rd. In just a little over two miles turn left on Town Line Rd. Careful! Don't miss it as you're rubber-necking the view out over the Green Mountains!
