Whether you prefer to take the rowing boat out on the lake, play tennis on the grass court, or sit quietly by the Wallop Brook watching the trout and ducklings cruise by, your time at The Meadow is your own to relax and enjoy the stunning setting as you wish... Your exquisite accommodation is Mary's Place, a gorgeous and completely unique glamping experience, offering a luxurious stay amongst perfect surroundings. Being only one of two glamping units in The Meadow’s private setting of two acres, Mary's Place is perfectly secluded and has plenty of space to help you spread out and relax. Your bedroom is a sumptuous retreat of colour and indulgence, with the front wall of folding glass doors, deep pile carpet, super comfy bed and twinkling fairy lights to perfectly complete the romantic setting in this boutique bohemian space. Draw back the curtain in the morning and step outside to find the most wonderful private setting, with the babbling Wallop Brook to one side and the sparkling expanse of a lake directly in front of you, complete with the resident moorhens and their four chicks! Overlooking the lake there is your beautifully original summer house where the luxurious theme continues! Decked in warm, vibrant colours inside and out and situated on extensive decking stretching over the lake, this area is exclusively yours to use as you wish - relax on the bench while reading a book by the serene tranquillity of the lake, enjoy a meal on the deck, or sip a cup of tea sheltering from the elements inside the summer house. Mary’s Place may be mainly off grid, but never fear, there are plenty of outdoor creature comforts too - from your large private outdoor area which includes a fire pit and cooking tripod, funky kitchen area, outdoor table and chairs and even your own leather couch & coffee table, all subtly bathed by solar lights. You may decide to cook amazingly tasty local buffalo burgers over the fire pit under the stars or you can opt to take a short stroll to one of the local pubs for a meal or a tipple. Perhaps then finish your evening cosying up in front of the firepit with a hot chocolate, or a large glass of wine, the choice is yours – Mary’s Place is the ideal romantic setting to breathe out and relax…. *Check out our other glamping unit, Wild Billy’s - an original, fully restored luxury Showman’s Caravan! About the neighbourhood
Nestled in a quiet corner of Broughton, Hampshire, The Meadow’s two acre setting is idyllic, peaceful and tucked away, yet still close to the convenience of this typically picturesque English country village with it's traditional local pub and Thai restaurant. The beautiful town of Stockbridge with it's beautiful Georgian High Street is a 45min walk or 7 minute drive away, containing many excellent shops, restaurants and river side pubs, it's well worth a visit. Stonehenge, one of the wonders of the world and the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe is only 13 miles away (20 minute drive). Full information about the area, including things to see / do will be provided on booking.
Getting around
Broughton is a large village, so walking or cycling is the way to go! We are at the mid point on the Clarendon Way which links the cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester. A short distance away is the Test Way, we also have some beautiful walks and cycle paths / routes in and around the village itself including on Broughton Down Nature Reserve. We have further details and maps as required
