Netherwood Cottage has been completely refurbished in 2017 so is a well-equipped self-catering property which provides you with the ideal Highland retreat in the heart of the Great Glen. The cottage is a short drive from Fort Augustus and Loch Ness (3 miles) and Invergarry (1 mile). Because the cottage is centrally located it makes exploring the Highlands easy with Fort William, Inverness, Loch Ness, and the Great Glen all within a short drive, and Skye is about 1h 45 mins.

Well-appointed throughout, there is self-catering accommodation for up to 4 people. Beautiful cottage. Ideally situated. On this occasion we brought the kids and they were fortunate enough to see deer grazing in the field across the road. We would definitely recommend a stay here and would definitely return for another stay here in the future.

About the neighbourhood
Just off the A82 at Newton (near Fort Augustus, 5Km). 40 Km from Fort William and Ben Nevis and the Jacobean Railway. This section of the A82 meanders through the Great Glen alongside the Caledonian Canal to Loch Ness.
Getting around
You will need to travel to the cottage by car, but there are bus services from Inverness to Fort William. Some great boat trips on Loch Ness (5Km) where you can take a trip to Urquhart Castle. Alternatively, go to Spean Bridge and take a day trip to Glasgow over the famous Rannoch Moor and Glen Coe. The Harry Potter train also runs from Fort William to Malaig but early booking advised.
