Cedar Cottage is a mid terrace cottage in what was originally a Dorset stone barn. Set in the midst of quiet farmland the cottage has a small south facing private patio, bordered by a large communal gardens edged by a small stream, with magnificent views. It is a 15 minute walk through fields to the coastal path and the beach at Seatown with the Anchor Pub, with Golden Cap to the right.

Quiet cottage in farmland just off the main A35. Lovely 10 min walk to a small pebble beach, Seatown. 5-10mins the other way led to the small town of Chideock with it's golden stone bricks and pretty cottages. The George pub did a great Stonefired...More

The cottage is simply but carefully furnished and has 2 bedrooms, the larger at the back of the cottage , with wonderful views. The master bedroom has a king size bed, the other has a single and two stacking beds which can be kept as a single, or made into two singles or a double, accommodating three people in total.The lounge /diner has an open plan kitchen, fully equipped with electric oven, microwave oven, fridge /freezer,. washing machine, and dishwasher. Dishes, pans and cooking utensils are plentiful for those who choose to cook the delicious local produce, including fish, organic vegetables and cheeses bought from the market in Bridport or from the plentiful local farm shops. There is a wireless internet access, colour TV, Blueray DVD player and Bluetooth hi-fi, and a good supply... more

Additional Rate and Availability Information
Duvets, pillows, linen and towels are provided. A travel cot and high chair are available should you need them. There is also an iron, ironing board and hairdryer for the use of guests. Electricity is included in the price.

In the summer season our changeover day is a Saturday but we are flexible the rest of the year. Guests may arrive at the property after 3pm on the day of arrival but must vacate the property by 10 am on the day of departure.

About the neighbourhood
Situated in one of the most picturesque valleys in this part of the county, and spelled as Chideock in the Doomsday Book, Chideock is only a stone's throw from Bridport (and West Bay) to the east and Charmouth to the west, both of which are outstanding holiday destinations in their own right. Chideock has it's own holiday access to the Jurassic Coast via Seatown, and is just two miles from the famous Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast which has breathtaking views. Chideock had two pubs, the George and the Clock.

The vibrant market town of Bridport is two miles away and has much to offer in entertainment with the Electric Palace Cinema staging live music, comedy and theatre plus films, the Arts Centre with regular exhibitons, live music, host to the Curzon cinema...

The cottage is about ¼ mile from the A35 and accessed along a well-maintained road.

Chideock has a bus service into Axminster, Lyme, Bridport, West Bay and Charmouth with Dorchester some 50 minutes away, so leaving the car behind for the day is a real option, as well as walking. The nearest rail station is in Axminster.
