Beaminster, Dorset, England
A pretty stone-built terraced cottage located on a quiet street in the heart of the charming West Dorset town of Beaminster, a short walk from its excellent restaurants, pubs, food and gift shops. Beautiful walks from the door and only a short drive to the spectacular Jurassic Coast with its stunning coast walks and beaches.

Dorset Cottage is a sweet little bolthole - a perfect base for a relaxing holiday and ideal for singles, couples and for small families with a baby or young child. Nick and Jo, who look after the cottage, live around the corner with their two young children and dog, have spent the past few years exploring the area. They have put together a guide to all the wonderful things to see and do near by and are happy to advise you on activities and sites to visit during your stay.

We enjoyed a short 2 night break with our Yorkshire Terrier and found the cottage to be exactly what we needed. The area is very pretty and the local walks just what we were after.

The cottage was in a lovely village and it was a nice location next to the Church. Generally the cottage was well furnished but we did have some issues. There is very limited parking which made it inconvenient on arrival and departure. We booked for...More

Lovely town, quiet location but central to everything. Had everything we wanted. Felt very comfortable. Good walks in surrounding countryside but bring your gum boots!

Thank Alison G

About the neighbourhood
Beaminster is a pretty, bustling market town, 6 miles inland from the coast. Its Ham stone buildings lie nestled amongst the surrounding gently rolling hills and woodland.

We love the local food shops -- Angie's fruit and veg shop, Nick Tetts the butcher, the Evershot Bakery which does the best cobber loaf we know, and Le Vieux Four patisserie for delicious coffee and pastries. And there's also a smart little Co-op open 7am-11pm, 7 days a week for papers, groceries, drinks and other essentials. There are several good cafes and restaurants, such as the luxurious and cosy Bridge House Hotel. And there are plenty of 'browsing' shops too, including two branches of Cilla and Camilla with clothes, kitchenware, gifts and toys, Pomegranate with kilims and Spanish pottery, and Ann...
