Thornwell Cottage is a beautiful 200 year old cottage with extensive gardens and fantastic views from the garden and bedrooms. This grade II listed property is complete with flagstone floors and exposed beams filling each room with character and charm. Located in a quiet part of the village, Thornwell Cottage is within walking distance of the the quayside and the village pubs. Accommodation: Thornwell Cottage is accessed via the porch at the front of the property, into the hallway with exposed beams and flagstone floor. The cosy sitting room is brimming with character and furnished with comfortable sofas, wood burner and duel aspect windows as well as flat-screen digital TV with freeview, DVD player. The cream bespoke kitchen with black granite work surfaces is fully equipped with electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. The small dining area comfortably seats four. The family bathroom is also on the ground floor with power shower over bath, toilet, basin and underfloor heating. Upstairs you will find two character bedrooms. The first is a double bedroom with 5′ brass bed and dual aspect windows with views towards the river. The second bedroom has 5′ zip & link bed that can be converted on request to two 2'6″ singles. Outside: Thornwell Cottage has a beautiful extensive private garden with views to the River Dart, the ideal spot for reading or painting. A private dining area with outdoor furniture flanks the house – perfect for Al fresco dining in the summer. Parking: The car park is 50m level walk along the lane. Charges apply. Nearby: The village pub The Red Lion is a 2 minute walk up the road. The Red Lion also hosts the village shop and post office. A 5 minute walk in the opposite direction will take you down to The Quay where you will find the Ferry Boat Inn and The Anchorstone Cafe as well as ferries to Greenway and Dartmouth. Availability: In the peak season, May, June, July and August we need to keep to Saturday changeovers and a minimum stay of 7 nights. However, please do contact us with any requests you may have and we will accommodate if possible. Out of peak season we don't need to keep to a Saturday changeover.
