A beautiful cottage that was very well equipped and the views were stunning. The cottage garden was full of wildlife and I loved the bird table as it had so much wildlife. Beautiful walks nearby. It was a lovely place to stay.

We enjoyed having this couple stay in our cottage because they really appreciated the wildlife and countryside in the same way that we do and they left the cottage so clean and tidy. They are always welcome here!

Lovely couple who really enjoyed the Dartmoor countryside and we really enjoyed having them here. The cottage was clean and tidy when they left so we would love them to come visit us again.

About the neighbourhood
We are ideally situated to take advantage of all that Devon and Cornwall have to offer including coastline, moorland and stunning countryside. Lydford has a pub with restaurant, a farm shop and a fine dining restarant as well as the National Trust Lydford Gorge which is well worth a visit. There are some excellent country house hotels in the area also offering excellent food and wine so you will be spoilt for choice! For walkers and cyclists, Hartsmead is next to a green lane that leads straight up onto open Moorland so no need to go on the roads and the Granite Way cycle path passes right in front of us. Our nearest town Tavistock is full of individual shops and a covered market so definitely should be visited.
Getting around
A car is a must in SW as there is no longer a train service but the bus runs regularly through Lydford and will stop outside our place if you hold out your hand. You can go to Tavistock then onto Plymouth to the south or through Okehampton and onto Exeter to the north.
