Interaction with guests
When you book the Stone Barn you will be staying at the heart of Beer Mill Farm Conservation Project which is where we live and work. Our house is a few fields away from the Stone Barn but we are on hand in case you need us, happy to take you on a guided walk, or you can explore with the maps and activities we leave for you. We regularly eat out locally so we are happy to recommend pubs and restaurants, just send us a message. We have many local contacts from a private chef service to horse riding schools, taxi drivers to hairdressers so ask if you need to know anything. We are keen walkers and regularly explore the local area, South West Coastal path, Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor and Exmoor and we are happy to recommend our favourite routes.

About the neighbourhood
This is a wonderfully non-commercial area where people still live off the land - enjoy the local nature and learn about grow your own, visit colourful markets in Holsworthy and Tavistock and buy from the locals who grow and make everything from fine works of art to the humble home-grown but truly delicious fruit and veg. Excellent local restaurants and pubs to suit all pockets from happy family pub right up to fine dining with wonderful south west wines. Try out a country fayre or one of the big agricultural shows, see and sample the finest produce Devon and Cornwall has to offer. Music , small theatres, comedy clubs/pubs or moonlit walks along sandy beaches - one of the few areas left with little or no light pollution - leave all the fast and furious behind and enjoy life in the slow lane if only for a little while
Getting around
Stone Barn is located in a beautiful remote part of North West Devon but there is a bus service from Exeter station via Holsworthy to Bude. This service is handy for guests arriving by train to travel to Holsworthy, takes approx 80mins. Holsworthy is approx 5km away from Stone Barn and the bus service is also useful for travelling to the beach at Bude.
