For over 100 years, New Hope has been a well known art community. Another main attraction is the local 'Bucks County Playhouse which was home away from home to many of Hollywood's greatest stars in the 1940's and 1950's many of whom later made New Hope their home. Note: PLEASE don't inquire about one night stays.Other Activities: If you like shopping, then you'll love New Hope, Pa. Located just a 5 minutes down the road is Peddler's Village. It was originally built to look like a Colonial village with 80 unique quaint little shops dotted along the meandering herringbone brick walkways. All thoughout the shopping village are beautiful gardens with waterfall fountains and koi ponds. Great restaurants there too... and if thats not enough, you also have all the outlet stores just across the street! Also right nearby are two great flea markets for those who like to get up early on Tuesday or Saturday mornings to get the good stuff :-)We also have 8 wineries that give tours, one great art museum (Michener Art Museum) and two other museums which are castles: Font Hill Museum and Merser Museum. In addition to everything else, we have all kinds of historic tours you can take, boat rides on the river, a train ride on an old steam engine that takes you through the heart of Bucks County OR you can watch a local polo match...More

A compound of English cottages next to an amazing French restaurant in a building built in 1710. The stay was romantic and the price was right. Kurt and Eleanor were gracious and intuitively helpful. We are coming back here and soon.

About the neighbourhood
New Hope is a pre-revolutionary river town. It is best known for being an Art Community. There is so much history here. The town of New Hope is nestled along the banks of the Delaware River and everywhere you look is like a post-card. This area of Bucks County, Pa looks like the rolling English country-side. There is so much to do and see here. We have 3 museums, 2 castles, 8 wineries, to many art galleries to count, live music, take a ride on an old steam engine, the famous Bucks County Playhouse where you can still see some of Hollywood's biggest stars perform, over 60 unique restaurants within a mile and a half from your cottage. A beautiful wild flower preserve, the tow-path along the beautiful Delaware River and the canal where you can walk or ride your bikes into down town New Hope or go on for miles.
Getting around
It is recommended to bring a car. We do have Uber drivers in the area and we also have a local taxi service. Being that we are just over a mile from down town New hope, you can walk or ride your bikes into town on the canal tow-path.
