Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Awesome family friendly Hinterland Retreat
Having recently stayed at the Manor, with two other families we were all very impressed with the overall presentation and scale of the property. The grounds were immaculate and the home, which appeared to have been through a recent renovation presented just beautifully. The rooms are very large and each room had an ensuite which was just perfect for us all. The kids really enjoyed exploring the property and the views of the ocean, lighthouse and Byron shire were nothing short of spectacular. The kitchen was enormous and there was plenty of room for us all to just relax and take in the country vibes. It is a great country retreat for groups or multiple families members to come together and escape from the daily grind!

Over-priced, not well maintained
I recently stayed at Byron Bay Manor for two nights as part of a large group and was quite appalled at the state of the house considering we had spent $3600 altogether. It was the middle of winter and all the air conditioning units had signs on them saying "out of order" (and we couldn't find the remotes) so heating was out of the question. The top floor balcony was being re-tiled so we assumed we couldn't go out onto it. The cream coloured carpets are nothing short of PUTRID, along with holes in the walls, leaking bathroom taps and rotting balcony railings - I really couldn't believe how they justify the cost. Clearly the money isn't being spent on maintenance. On a positive note, the view is spectacular, the large kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfy enough.

Dear Ilana, I apologise that the manor was not up to your expectation, as you know unfortunately we received major rain and flooding at the start of this year which affected a great many properties and we have been working to clean it all up including som eof the renovations that were unfortunately not finished for your stay due to continued rain and bad weather. Best Regards, Justin

Fantastic house
The Byron Bay Manor was great for our large group the bedrooms were all as pictured. The pool was beautiful although looks larger in the photos But is adequate. The kitchen was really equipped and plenty of fridge space for large groups. We went out to Byron for dinner a few times and all the taxi drivers knew the place well thanks to Justin for a very easy booking process ! No snakes present during our visit !!

a large exquisite holiday home for large families or groups
For large family gatherings and events, this is an amazing place!! Excellent facilities and bedrooms with adjoining spas and showers and toilets are so ideally equipped. Entertainment pool table, swimming pool music and TV with books to read. CDs to play. Each bedroom has a calm peaceful outlook and enjoyed our stay here. Early morning strolls observed bush turkeys, other birds by the dozen, water dragon near the pool (hops in and out by itself) lots of friendly harmless spiders in the gardens and wallabies. Even saw a carpet python. Well manicured beautiful gardens for leisurely walks. Easily accessible to nearby shops at 5 mins drive to Bangalow OR 10mins to Byron Bay. St. Helena Road easily accessible from the Pacific Highway. Site just over the tunnels at a high point overlooking the Byron bay. Take your binoculars and enjoy close up of fantastic sunrises and sunsets. Liz was ever so friendly and place was so clean and tidy. Very well equipped kitchen with all utilities and BBQ, two fridges and chest freezer, laundry with Towels, linen and doona ('just in' case)! Thanks Justin for facilitating our stay at the Manor.

Great Hideaway
We stayed at the Byron Bay Manor as part of a large family wedding party. The number of rooms offered flexibility and the amenities including spare linen and towels were great. Younger children were free to explore the extensive grounds and on a warm day, many went for a swim. We could see all the way to the Lighthouse, and while not far from Byron and Bangalow, had our privacy. Ample parking on site rounded it off for us. Now to find a way to manage the mosquitoes...
