About the neighbourhood
Golant is a small village on the west bank of the Fowey River. About 2 miles upstream from the beautiful town of Fowey and 2 miles downstream from Lostwithiel. Both these towns are well worth a visit and have plenty of shops for you to mooch around for a couple of hours, they also have wonderful restaurants and pubs for an evening out. In Golant itself, we have a fantastic village pub, The Fisherman's Arms, where Nick the landlord will give you a warm welcome. The pub serves great food and an excellent selection of beers. If you are lucky enough to be here for a bank holiday weekend it is highly likely there will be a beer festival going on! We also have The Cormorant Hotel which has an excellent menu and stunning views.
Getting around
The best way to get around Cornwall is by car. You could also hire a kayak in village and head straight out onto the River Fowey for a wonderful exploration of our beautiful estuary. Par Station is on the main railway line from Exeter to Truro and Penzance, and with only one change to go to St Ives or Newquay, this is also an excellent way to travel around Cornwall. The local bus service offers regular journeys to and from Fowey and St Austell.
Car advised
How to get there
Airport: Newquay: 40.0 km
Railway: Par: 4.0 km
A car is recommended but don't be put off if you don't have one. Par train station is only three miles away and there is a pretty good bus service from the top of our hill (about a mile) to most local towns.

Nearest Beach: 4.0 km.
