A very convenient location for strolling into Knaresborough or along the river (very picturesque); within half an hours drive of lots of other great places. Daisy Cottage was very comfortable and a good base for exploring the area. Two very minor criticisms: a folding dining...More

About the neighbourhood
Knaresborough is full of surprises, a warren of medieval streets and stone staircases that weave their way up and down the hill. The town centre is perched on cliffs above the River Nidd and the beautiful railway viaduct across the Nidd Gorge offers an amazing view to visitors as they arrive by train.

The market place in the centre offers a great place to enjoy a cup of tea or something delicious and home baked. (Cafe di Lucca is our favourite). On a Wednesday stalls fill the maket place offering tasty produce, whole foods, plants and flowers, as well pretty much anything else you can imagine, in the ever popular Knaresborough Market.
Getting around
Access to the sights of Knaresborough is fairly easy on foot, although there are some hills to consider. There are plenty of tourist signposts throughout the town, pointing out routes to the castle, riverside, Mother Shipton's cave and elsewhere.
There is a very regular bus service from the front gate of the Badger Hill complex, on the Daisy Cottage side of the road it runs to the lovely town of Harrogate in around 15 minutes, on the opposite side of the road the bus will take you to the centre of Knaresborough in a couple of minutes.
Car not needed
