Dining is either in the conservatory or outside on the terrace, where the river Bradford can be heard flowing below in the valley bottom. The garden is full of flowers in the summer and has stunning views all year round. A utility room comes with a washing machine and airer. Vallon is full of character with its thick walls and interesting shapes, it's decorated to make you feel at home, with linens and rugs from India and original artwork. There are so many wonderful walks straight from the door and mountain biking and climbing close by. In Youlgrave there are three traditional Derbyshire pubs, one serving excellent food, along with two shops and a post office. Vallon Cottage has a calming effect on all who know it. In sunshine or snow, its charm and uniqueness are sure to make your stay in the Peak District memorable. More

About the neighbourhood
There are so many things to do in the Peak District, places to see and visit, as well as many seasonal celebrations happening. Here are a few to wet your appetite. Chatsworth House is on the doorstep, with many events happening through the year. They have a Country fair in September. A 'Beyond Limits' Sculpture exhibition within the gardens, at a time when the gardens are ablaze with colour and texture, it runs from around the 7th September - 28th October each year. They usually have two bonfires and the house is dressed for Christmas from 6th November - 23rd December. There are many other activities happening there, check out their website. There is also a children's farm and playground. Chatsworth Estate also have a wonderful Farm Shop which empties your purse but you do come b...
How to get there
I will send you directions close to your arrival time. The closest airport is East Midlands and then Manchester. Closest train station is Matlocka and if you we’re coming from Manchester it would be Buxton. Then taxi from either destination. Local buses will take you into Bakewell.
