The apartment is part of a converted stone barn built in the 1850s and is located solely on the ground floor. The property consists of an open-plan living area, dining room and kitchen, a wetroom/shower room and two bedrooms. My partner and son really enjoyed our stay here. The owners responded to all our email questions very promptly. Lake Windermere is only a short walk away, and we were able to easily paddle out on the water with our canadian canoe. NB. There is...More

Very comfortable accommodation which was spotlessly clean and tidy. The location was excellent, being only 500 m from the west shore of Lake Windermere. I would highly recommend this wonderful cottage to anyone planning a trip to the beautiful Lake District.

The Grange is ideally located away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger towns and villages, but hundreds of local attractions and days out are only a short drive away!Close to home (within the estate), enjoy the shore of Lake Windermere and pack a picnic or BBQ whilst taking in the stunning views. Black Hole Wood also offers plenty of footpaths to explore.Take a short drive to Lakeside Aquarium (great for rainy days!) or a trip on the Haverthwaite Steam Railway! Grizedale Forest is a short drive away and offers plenty of outdoor fun. Visit Beatrix Potters house and the gallery at Hawkshead, or treat yourself to Afternoon Tea or a Spa Day at nearby Lakeside Hotel & Spa or the famous Swan Hotel at Newby Bridge.Further afield youll find easy access to all the Lake District has to offer...
How to get there
Leave the M6 at Junction 36 and follow signs for Barrow / Ulverston / Newby Bridge. Once you reach Newby Bridge, turn right over the bridge and pass the Swan Hotel. Continue on this road past the Lakeside Hotel. Keep right at Stott Park Bobbin Mill and we are a little further up the road on the right hand side. Look out for the green sign reading 'Black Hole Wood - Private Estate' or the gates marked 'Private Estate - Stock Park'
