With a large sunny outdoor area and fantastic views of the surrounding fells, Fisherground is an ideal base for exploring the awesome mountains, rivers and lakes in the area.
Fisherground is a wonderful starting point for hundreds of walks, either on the fells or along the banks of the River Esk, with tumbling waterfalls and magnificent clear pools to swim in.

We had a large family gathering in the farmhouse it was beautiful clean comfortable and had everything you could,possibly need to cater for 13 adults and two kids. Excellent will definitely book again

Each lodge has a lovely big sitting room, with Freesat HDTV, DVD and a wood burning stove that keeps the place toasty and warm whatever the weather. The kitchen and dining areas open off this, the kitchen is fully fitted with an electric fan oven, four ring hob , microwave oven, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment and all the usual utensils and crockery. Crag View also has a large freezer.There are three bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with twin beds and one with a set of adult sized bunks. The bathroom has WC, washbasin and bath/shower. Crag View has 2 King size double rooms, a bunk room, shower room and bathroom.

Heating is by electric panel heaters throughout and a wood burning stove in the lounge.

If you have satellite navigation, the recommended route often appears to be over Wrynose and Hardnott passes which can be very lovely but incredibly steep (Englands steepest road with gradients of up to 1 in 3), narrow and steep with sharp bends. The route is shorter but will be slower than the route below.

• From the M6 motorway leave at junction 36 for Kendal/Lakes.
• Follow signs for Barrow.
• Three miles beyond Newby Bridge, before you reach Barrow, turn right to Workington (A5092).
