LCS is a place which caters to the expats living in Ajijic. LCS has beautiful gardens, a cafe, a DVD and extensive book libraries, an office with ex-pat volunteers who have a wealth of information on everything that ex-pats need to know if they are thinking of moving to Ajijic. A great meeting place. We are also close to the rendezvous of the daily Ajijic Hiking group (all levels) and Ajijic Kayaking Club(all levels). There are 2 great tennis locations which are not within walking distance but can easily be reached by bus or taxis. (We now have Uber in Ajijic) There are also pickle ball courts (about 7 miles away by taxi or bus ) and two great golf courses (one within walking distance in neighboring, Chula Vista). If you like to play bridge, there is a very active Duplicate and other bridge clubs available. We are also within walking distance of the Ajijic Auditorium where there are many local and non local performances. This Auditorium is also used for many dancing classes and other artful projects. We are approximately 40 miles from Guadalajara, the second biggest city in Mexico. There are direct first class buses that run daily from the Lake Chapala area to Guadalajara. The bus stop for the Guadalajara direct route is within walking distance. There are two great places that offer chartered tours to surrounding areas and other Mexican states. More

Interaction with guests
I am very interested in my guests as they will be staying in my beautiful rental. I want to get to know them before they arrive. So, when they book, I like guests to tell me as much about themselves as they wish to divulge so that I may have a good idea of who they are and what their needs are. It is important to me that my guests are comfortable and are pleased with their stay in Ajijic. I like to greet my guests when they arrive. Hand them the keys; show them the house and the particulars about Casa Rosa; suggest places to visit, restaurants; events that might be happening at the time of their visit, etc. I am fairly new as a hostess and so is Casa Rosa - built in 2014.

We rented for 10 weeks. Great location and lovely house. Unfortunately, way too many problems. Lucie, the owner either incapable of fixing them, or simply didn't care. We left early, frustrated and unhappy.More

As the owner of this property, I take exception to this review. Any concern that my guests had was addressed within hours of receiving it either by me, my brother-in-law or my property manager. However, nothing seemed to satisfy them. They obviously were not happy...More

About the neighbourhood
Ajijic and Lake Chapala is recognized as having the second best climate in the world based on reports from National Geographic. The rainy season is from mid-June to mid-November. We usually have torrential rains at night, wake up to sunshine in the morning with clean air, green mountains, colorful flowers, and the feeling that we are in paradise. The weather is usually between 70-75 degrees and stays like that most of the day. Sometimes, it cools off a little at night but sweaters and coats are rarely necessary here. Casa Rosa is within walking distance of some of the best restaurants in Ajijic: Teochintle Tango, Elegante, Just Chillin, Pasta Trenta, the Nueva Posada for Sunday brunch, etc. The Ajijic Hospital is 3 blocks away.
Getting around
Since Casa Rosa is centrally located, everything is in walking distance. The main plaza with its main church, cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, the Malecon. So walking is the mode to get around. If you need to go to a neighboring village, then you can hop on a bus (on the corner of CASA ROSA) and for 7 pesos (correct change is necessary) you can go to San Juan Tlayacapan, Chapala, or Jocotepec. We now have UBER service in Ajijic, so on your phone you can call Uber taxi to take you anywhere you want to go.
