We found the fishing to be phenomenal. The guides work very hard to locate great fishing spots and also work around the lodge and boat docks to insure that the boats are clean and gas tanks are filled. The guides have great equipment and know how to use same to find fish habitat. The staff is very helpful in handling...

Being a dual citizen of both Canada and the US, gives me a somewhat different perspective in rating Canadian fly in fishing lodges. Here the service you receive is top notch, the cuisine is outstanding, the scenery is serene and the angling does not disappoint! The support staff are all exceptional, and at the same time respectful of one's space. It's one...

I have fished many lodges in CA over the years and this one by far was the best. The fishing was great and the staff was even better! Pat the camp manager was always checking to make sure we got what we needed and made us feel welcomed and appreciated. Tom the chef did a great job and the meals...

About the neighbourhood
Slippery Winds Wilderness Lodge is located 38 air miles north of Fort France, Northwestern Ontario, Canada. The lodge is a short, 20-minute float plane ride from our departure point in Fort Frances. Slippery Winds Wilderness Lodge has access to six separate lakes which are accessible via boat or by a short portage. Our guests have the opportunity to angle for six species of sport fish including northern pike, muskie, largemouth and smallmouth bass, lake trout and walleye. We even have some nice perch in one of our lakes!

Situated in a sheltered bay at the east end of Yoke Lake, Slippery Winds is the only lodge on the lakes, and with a maximum guest capacity of only 18 guests, and a long-time catch-and-release policy, the fishing pressure on our lakes is kept to a minimum.

How to get there
Airport: International Falls, MN: 64.0 km
From the U.S. drive or fly to International Falls, MN - approx a 4-/2 hour drive from the Twin Cities. Cross the border and overnight in Fort Frances as the float plane charters depart at 7:30 AM and you don't want to be held-up at Customs in the morning. A shuttle service is available to take passengers from the International Falls airport to Fort Frances hotels. We recommend LaPlace Rendezvous for your overnight stay in Fort Frances as it is located right on the lake and the closest hotel to Rusty Myers Flying Service.
