Renovated Schoolhouse - Hudson Valley Getaway

Cottage -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 7
New Paltz, New York
Built in 1847, this Schoolhouse was completely renovated in 2013. It sleeps up to 6 and provides guests a getaway as they look out from the edge of a gorgeous, 120-acre horse farm right near the Shawangunk Mountains (the Gunks). The private house works well for couples, families, friends' reunions, and for creative individuals seeking a quiet retreat.

Inside you'll find hardwood floors, central air-conditioning, and a simple, clean design that will leave you rested. The Master bedroom has a queen bed and views of the farm. The second bedroom has twin beds that can be pushed together to make like a king. The great room has cathedral ceilings, wood beams, skylights, windows on three sides, a pull out double couch, and a bathroom with a tiled bathtub and shower. We have towels and linens for your comfort. There is a flat screen tv,...

This school house looks like a normal cottage on the outside, but when you step inside you feel as though you have both stepped back in time and walked into a stylish Ralph Lauren catalogue. The owners kept the beautiful details of the past while...More

Thank you for this nice review! We look forward to having Vanessa back. Each season brings a distinct beauty to the farm. Spring’s chilly evening and mornings make for great sleeping. The yellow forsythia and daffodils are in bloom and the buds of trees and...More

Very cozy and quaint. Everything we needed for the weekend. Even a bottle of wine! There were even some toys for the kids to play with and kid friendly movies. They thought of everything.

About the neighbourhood
The house sits on the edge of a 120-acre farm that has horses, goats, chickens, and donkeys. There is plenty of open space and lots of woodland. Much of the farm has gorgeous, head-on views of the Shawagunk mountains. Once you've arrived, you are welcome to walk on our carriage trails or go for a snow-shoe or cross-county ski if you are inclined. Parking is easy; the Cottage has a large, driveway and even a one-car garage. The neighborhood is tranquil.

If you are coming from New York City, it's likely that you will want to either drive -- about an hour and twenty minutes from the George Washington Bridge -- or take a direct bus from Port Authority: Adirondack Trailways. The bus ride is about an hour and forty minutes. The New Paltz Bus Station is l...
