This lovely 3 bedroom conversion was completed in 2014 and has been built to a very high standard retaining many of the original features including exposed beams and stonework. An excellent feature is the indoor pool (7m x 3.2), heated year round to 28°: you can swim in all weathers. There is plenty of room around it to sit back on the sunloungers or at the table and relax. A vast sliding door opens from the pool onto a private terrace, particularly attractive when lit at night. The separate lounge has a woodburner and the kitchen is modern with a dining area. There is a very large bedroom downstairs and the two upstairs bedrooms each have their own en-suite shower rooms. In the village, there is a very popular little restaurant, small shops within 2kms and several local markets. In the village, there is a very popular little restaurant, small shops within 2kms and several local markets. The main shops are in Fontenay Le Comte (10km). Maillezais (4km) is famous for its Abbey and you are in the middle of the Marais, great for relaxing in canal boats, hired locally, and also excellent for cycling and stopping en route at one of the many cafés lining the canals. Other musts are visits to La Rochelle, the lovely historic city (within an hour), the Vendée coast, famous for its beaches, as well as Les Sables d'Olonne, its main seaside resort. Cette magnifique restauration, achevée en 2014, a été menée de main de maître. Elle a conservé de nombreuses caractéristiques originales, comme ses poutres et ses pierres apparentes. L’atout majeur de cette superbe maison est sa piscine intérieure (7 x 3,2), chauffée toute l'année à 28°: vous pourrez nager par tous les temps, et vous détendre sur les transats de ce grand espace, ou autour de la table. De la piscine, une grande porte coulissante donne sur une terrasse privée, éclairée de nuit, particulièrement agréable. Le salon est équipé d’un poêle à bois et la cuisine avec coin-repas est moderne. La chambre du bas est très grande, et les deux chambres de l'étage ont chacune leurs propres salles d’eau. Dans le village, il y a un petit restaurant très apprécié, des commerces à 2kms, et plusieurs marchés locaux. Les principaux commerces sont à Fontenay le Comte (10km). Maillezais (4km) est célèbre pour son abbaye. Vous serez dans le Marais, et pourrez vous détendre dans les bateaux fluviaux à louer sur place, faire du vélo ou vous arrêter dans l'un des nombreux cafés qui bordent les canaux. Les autres « must » sont les visites de la Rochelle, belle ville historique à une heure de route, la côte Vendéenne et ses plages, ainsi que Les Sables d'Olonne, la principale station balnéaire.
