10/10 highly recommend! The location is stunning and the house is great! We live in Albuquerque and this is our favorite stay we’ve done in the Abiquiu area in terms of being a perfect meeting point of natural beauty/tranquility and being only 1 hr 45 minutes from Albuquerque with limited driving on gravel/dirt roads. We have stayed at a few more far flung and harder to reach places in the Abiquiu area that were worth the trip but it’s amazing to have all the same natural beauty and peacefulness with less trouble.
I had my dogs with me and it was a location where I didn’t feel worried about them getting into trouble while they went out to go potty and such, even without them on a leash.
We will certainly be back!

Gleich der erste Eindruck ist vielversprechend: ein Haus am Ende des Schotterweges, der Blick geht über die Ebene bis zu den Bergen. Pflanzen und Terrassen bezeugen schon von außen die liebevolle Pflege der Eigentümer. Auch innen ist alles tip top gepflegt und liebevoll gestaltet. Ein Architektenhaus! Wir fühlten uns sofort willkommen. Die Ausstattung der Küche, die hübschen Bäder, wifi, Sauna alles war vom Feinsten. Wir hatten eine wundervolle Woche zu viert: Vater Mutter und und zwei Töchter (13 und 17). Und keiner von uns konnte am Ende sagen, was das Schönste war: Die Ausflüge zu heißen Quellen zu den berühmten Pueblos in Taos, nach Santa Fe ode die Mußestunden in dem schönen Haus mit dem fantastischen Rundumblick auf die weite Ebene und die fernen Berge.
We had such a wonderful stay at the Medanales Mesa Retreat. Father, mother and two teenage daughters couldn't even say by the end of the week what was more delightful: the excursions to hot springs, the famous Taos Pueblo or Santa Fe or just stay in the perfectly furnished house. Everything was right there for us: wifi, Sauna, very well equiped kitchen and beautiful bathrooms. We spent hours relaxing and enjoying the fantastic view from every room and terrace: the mesa and the mountains. It was completely quiet and close to nature. I loved the changing lights on the mesa. I'm sure that it's wonderful any time of the year.

Beautiful skies and scenery
Beautiful home with plenty of private acreage and joining enough public land that you can hike to your heart’s desire and even get to the Rio Chama by foot if you wake up early enough. Close enough to Taos, Santa Fe and Los Alamos you’ll not run out of things to do. Great food within 15 minutes any direction and great groceries a little further than that.

Remote getaway
Off the beaten path - no light pollution, quiet and beautiful desert location. Good hiking right off the property and close to many of New Mexico's best gems.

Beautiful home, unique location
We chose this spot as it was off the beaten path but close to areas of New Mexico we had not yet explored. This beautiful and comfortable home provided everything we had hoped for. The views out all windows were wonderful, there was great light in every room from windows and skylights, comfortable beds, well designed kitchen, the sauna, and we appreciated the various plantings in the beds around the house (beautiful rosemary) and all the birds that came in for water. Lilyan was extremely helpful, from answering my pre-booking questions
to recommending great local eateries (we highly recommend Cafe Sierra Negra in Abiquiu). She and Chris also provided great assistance when the power was out due to a wind storm.
In summary, this beautiful home had everything we needed, and more! We highly recommend the house, the location and, importantly, Lilyan who made it possible for us.

Wonderful stay
We really enjoyed our time in Medanales! The house is clean and comfortable. The sunrise over the mesa in the morning with a cup of coffee can't be beat. We spent some of our time working and the WiFi worked well. The host is very responsive and the neighbors were even wonderfully helpful when we had car trouble. Highly recommend!

Great home off the beaten path
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay cooking nice meals, visiting Ojo Caliente and Santa Fe. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to stay off the beaten path!

Magical Mesa
We had such a hard time leaving this house after our 6-day stay! It's not just beautiful but comfortable too, with so many thoughtful touches. Each sunrise and sunset was gorgeous, and reading by the fire was a treat, when we weren't out hiking or enjoying museums, great restaurants, etc. We will be back!
