Traveling solo. Randomly stopped at office and asked to stay three days in this small cabana/efficiency complex. Front desk got me checked in with no hassles despite no reservation. I had brought my own sheets and sleeping bag to avoid linen charges. Turns out they don't have a linen charge for walk-in customers. This particular cabana has a great view of the ocean. Decent décor. Reasonably well maintained and clean. A couple would have sufficient room for a short stay. Anything more and you would be stretching it. Internet was good, but cable was standard definition. I would definitely take this over any of the motels on the island.
I was here off season so nobody was around. The beach was usually empty as far as you could see. Most everything was closed this time of the year. Want great chowder and clam strips? Drive over to Buxton and try the Diamond Shoals. Best chowder I had the entire trip.
