The cabin was the perfect place for us to unwind for a few days. Even with the rain, there were plenty of places to hike, grill, and just relax. We're already talking about making a return trip back.

About the neighbourhood
We do own lake front property just down the same road (Ramsdam Road). When exiting the cabin's driveway you would simply turn right onto Ramsdam and drive/walk 400 feet to the tree line. From there the lake is 100 feet to your left where you will see a boat dock. Parked on shore is a canoe (oars are on the cabin porch) and a paddle boat that you may use. Please be advised that LIFE JACKETS ARE NOT PROVIDED, you would need to bring your own. Directly behind and to the north of the cabin is 800 hundred thousand acres of Hiawatha National Forest with trails from both the cabin and lake properties that give you direct access to the forest.
How to get there
The address for the cabin is 11624 Ramsdam Rd. Manistique, MI 49854 Directions to the cabin from Manistique Michigan: From Manistique take county road 442 west to Michigan highway M-149(there will be a store on the corner called Linda's Breadbox) make a right. Take M-149 about 2 miles to Miller Road( just after the curve in the road) and make a left. Miller Rd will dead end on Thunder Lake Road, turn right. Drive about 11 miles to Ramsdam Rd. You will pass two red buildings on the right, one of them is Thunder Lake Store (that is no longer open) and the other building is a private residence cabin. Just after passing these the road will turn to gravel and there will be a road on the left and a sign saying 'Whispering Pines Res
