Cabin Holiday Rental
This cabin sits on the shores of beautiful, clean, clear Long Pond. It is one of a cluster of four cabins, each renting separately. We have worked hard to preserve the unique, 1930's fish camp character. If you are looking to commune with nature, seek a simple respite from modern life or just want to enjoy Long Pond, this is for you. Each cabin is a stone's throw away from the others but they are arranged to give a sense of privacy. The waterfront with small dock sits just next to this cabin and is shared between the four cabins. We're at the end of a private, sandy road and located next to Pinewoods Camp. When the camp is in session from mid June through Labor Day you can hear their music until 11:00 PM each night. In early June and September, when this cabin is most available, the pond is wonderfully quiet. You can enjoy the area's wildlife, swim in the clear waters, hike miles of nature trails or use it as a jump-off point to explore the Cape and Boston. We call this one, Dick's Maggot (that is the name of an English Country Dance, not a bug). It has a shorefront bedroom with queen bed, a sitting room with couch, chairs and working fireplace and a bathroom with old fashioned claw foot tub. You can sit in the bath and look out onto the pond. New this year we are putting a mini-bar with sink, mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven, cooking surface and dishes for 4. You have your own grill and picnic table outside of the cabin. A very small screened porch out back looks onto the lake. More

About the neighbourhood
The area has numerous glacial lakes and trails that go through many square miles of natural area. Although well situated to access all the great Massachusetts tourist sites (Boston, Cape, Providence, Plymouth etc), nature lovers will want to leave some time just to explore the bounty close by. We regularly see eagles flying overhead. The fishing and swimming are amazing. If you are a brave mushroom hunter or plant enthusiast, we've got lots to see.
Getting around
We are at the end of a private, one-lane, sandy road. We don't recommend that you drive your favorite sports car to visit. You will need a car to get to the grocery etc. A mountain bike would be a great toy for exploring our sandy lanes. We provide a canoe for your use, but bring your sailboat or kayak to explore our lake even more.
