For rainy days we have cupboards of board games, jigsaws and toys. The flat is up one flight of stairs and is child-friendly. (Cot, high chair and playpen available on request). Your dog is welcome too! We occupy the entire second floor of a much photographed building, originally built in 1674, it is a grade B listed building in a conservation area. A traditional, real-ale pub serving sensibly priced pub grub is on the ground floor, 'The Ferry Tap' has a really friendly atmosphere and even welcomes children and dogs. We are delighted to greet our guests when they arrive and to introduce them to the apartment. We speak French and German (as well as English!). We can provide a welcome pack and tips on things to see and do in the area. We do not live on the premises, but are only 15 minutes away. Queensferry is a very pretty, historic town in its own right with numerous restaurants, bars and two supermarkets. There are scenic walks in the woods or along the sea-shore from our doorstep. The town has a small museum and is the start point for boat trips out to the islands of the Firth of Forth to watch wildlife, including large seasonal puffin colonies. Of course, it is also the best place to see the world famous bridges. Easy access both to Edinburgh and to the rest of Scotland - you can be amidst the Lochs and glens within 40 minutes drive. We opened for business in May 2014. The flat is newly furnished and ready to welcome you, so why not take a chance, you'll not regret holidaying in Queensferry! More

Interaction with guests
I am able to greet most of my guests and enjoy showing them the flat and answering any questions about the locality and tourism in the Central belt of Scotland and beyond. I do have a key-safe for the occasions when a personal welcome is not possible; for instance When I am working as a teacher or simply stuck in traffic. I always do try to make a personal appearance at some point and am always accessible via email or mobile phone.

My sister, brother-in-law and I were visiting Queensferry for my niece's (their daughter's) wedding, which was in nearby Dundas Castle, so the flat was in an ideal location for us. It was in the town centre, so everything was within walking distance, 5 minutes drive/20...More

Fantastic apartment: stunning views, very well equipped. Kids loved the toys and books. Carole, the host, made us feel very welcome. Everything super clean too. Lots of lovely cafes on your doorstep. Can thoroughly recommend it!

I stayed here for a long weekend with some friends and family and we weren’t disappointed. The apartment is huge and even with seven of us staying we had plenty of room. Carole was great from start to finish, and made us feel very welcome...More

Crawsteps has to be completely unique. It is in a very old building above a pub. Large sash windows overlooking the most incredible views of the Firth of Forth. It is like being dropped back centuries. You are in the middle of this really charming...More

How to get there
Off street parking is possible by taking Hawthorn Bank; a small road opposite Scotmid supermarket. Here you will find non-reservable, free parking for about 25 cars. To access the flat continue along this road and turn left into the Vennel. We are the tall white building at the end. The entrance stair has the name Forth Court above it and we are the middle buzzer. If arriving by train your end Station is Dalmeny, then you have a pleasant 10 minute stroll down to the High Street. The 43 bus from the city centre will drop you off a 3 minute walk away.
