About the neighbourhood
Kingsbridge is a picturesque market town at the head of the Salcome Estaury. There is a small weekly market and twice a month the Farmers' Market takes place in the Market Square. We have a Sports Centre with a swimming pool in the town, 2 public parks, some interesting shops, a cinema and a rural life museum. The town has a bus service connecting to Plymouth, Totnes, Dartmouth, Exeter, Salcombe, and Mill Cottage is near to one of these routes, running from Plymouth via Kingsbridge to Dartmouth, along the famous Slapton Line, with its beautiful beaches and freshwater Ley. Mill Cottage is four and a half miles from Kingsbridge, and another small town, Modbury, is equidistant in the Plymouth direction. Salcombe, only seven miles, is an ideal boating and sailing centre.
Getting around
A car is desirable but not essential. There is a bus service running through the village to Plymouth, or to Dartmouth via Kingsbridge. From Kingsbridge bus connections are available to Exeter, Totnes and Salcombe. We have storage facilities should you wish to bring push bikes.
