Neutrally decorated and simply furnished, the house is exceptionally quiet: a place to snooze on the sofa, hang in the hammock, read a book or catch up on the news, TV or radio. The kitchen is really well equipped, including with a dishwasher, and there are games etc. The private patio has a hot tub; it is a secluded sun trap during midday during the summer. Check out time is 12 and you are free to arrive at any time after 4pm- there may be flexibility around these times, just ask. Small well behaved dogs are welcome too but out of the bedrooms. Please note the hot tub requires daily maintenance. Towels and bed linen and hairdryer etc are naturally provided free of charge. There is a private parking space for one car only- for visitors use one of the two free public car parks very near by, all no more than a very pleasant three minute stroll through the attractive and friendly village. About the neighbourhood
Turnchapel is a beautiful small fishing village at the mouth of the Plym River- across the water is the Hoe and Barbican -it is next to a water area known as the Cattewater (pronounced Cat Water). It is a hidden gem - still within the suburbs of Plymouth within Plymstock close to Mount Batten. The Jennicliff beaches only five minutes walk away and a forty minute walk from Bovisands Beach along a lovely and interesting coastal path. Plymouth city centre and the Barbican/Hoe takes thirty minutes (or pop over on the short water taxi journey).
Getting around
The village has a regular bus service and the water taxi is every half an hour. Cars can access the village but it is a lovely place to walk around if you are always stuck in your vehicle in your daily life. It is a pleasure to take the water taxi over to the Hoe and the Barbican areas.
