A short drive along the charming country side brings you historic downtown Dahlonega, the alpine-inspired village of Helen, fantastic hiking spots and waterfalls (we can recommend some local favorites!), gold-panning, horseback riding, tubing/kayaking, antiques and annual festivals and events for the whole family. Our home is centrally located to all sights and attractions but tucked away so that you can simply relax...with a nice glass of local wine. We are minutes away from local vineyards and wedding venues along the Northeast GA wine trail. Our kitchen is fully stocked with all the appliances, accessories, dishes and bakeware to prepare a feast each night. There is plenty of space for the whole family to gather and/or retreat to a quiet spot for 'me' time. Listen to the breeze flow through the trees, keep an eye out for deer, wild turkey and other local wildlife as you sip a cup of morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. PLEASE NOTE: This property is a private home and not designated as an event facility - weddings, rehearsal parties, after parties and any other events are not permitted on the property. A strict maximum occupancy of 16 people applies and includes all Guest/Visitors of any age. The maximum occupancy of 16 people includes guests staying overnight and visiting. All Guests/Visitors must be registered in rental Agreement. If you are seeking a large space for event gatherings or groups numbering over 16 people at any time, our home is not best-suited for your needs. About the neighbourhood
Property is surrounded by vacant woods, and nearby farms, wineries and vineyards in a Lumpkin County rural district affectionately called 'Frogtown' for the occasional evening croaking symphonies following mountain rains. The region hosts cyclists in search of beautiful winding mountain rides and local attractions. The Chattahoochee and Oconee National Forests are just a short drive away. The front of the home faces pristine vacant forested PRIVATE land. Deer and wild turkey are abundant along with the occasional visit from a resident black bear. Please note that (2) other properties which border our home are currently for sale. As these areas are not under are ownership, the potential for building/construction may be a possibility.
Getting around
A car is required to get around the area's winding rural (paved) roads. The closest grocery store and gas station to the home is approximately 15 minutes way in Cleveland, GA. Ingles (Gas and Grocery) 55 Helen Hwy Cleveland, GA 30528. This is our preferred grocery - full service grocery, stocked with everything including seasonal organic produce as available. If you're heading up on state road 400, there are multiple options along the way (Publix, Kroger, etc.)
