Alder Cottage sleeps six people in three bedrooms. On the ground floor there is an open plan living room and dining area with pine beams, oak flooring and a cosy wood burning stove. From the lounge there is a patio door leading out to a large comfortable decking area and garden. The views are simply stunning. Enjoy alfresco drinks and a barbecue in the garden.

The well appointed kitchen has a breakfast bar. There is also a shower room with toilet and a double bedroom. Upstairs there is one large master bedroom with en-suite bathroom which includes a bath, wash basin and wc. The master bedroom can have either - a super king sized double bed or two single beds prepared for you. There is an additional single day bed at the opposite end of the master bedroom which can be used as a sofa to relax on or to sleep child/adult.

Alder cottage is one of four holiday cottages on the owners farm. It was very comfortable and had everything that we needed. A welcome pack including milk & eggs from the farm was very much appreciated. The cottage has lovely views and is well placed...More

The holiday cottages are located in the Cowal Peninsula, one of the most unspoiled and beautiful natural environments in Europe, rich in history, culture and wildlife. It feels like another world, and yet it is only an hour from Glasgow.

The Cowal Peninsula is a delightful part of Scotland bordered on three sides by sea lochs and to the north by the Arrochar Alps. It has its own unique landscape and history and an unspoiled natural environment. A stay in Stronchullin Cottages is an ideal escape from the outside world with many activities to choose from for a perfect holiday and with the town of Dunoon with a further selection of facilities only a few miles away.

Airport: Glasgow: 53.0 km
Railway: Gourock: 21.0 km
Ferry: Dunoon: 14.0 km
From Glasgow, follow the M8 for Greenock, then the A8 for Gourock. Take the A770 for Western Ferries, 2 miles beyond Gourock. This is where your holiday begins! Enjoy the 20 minute ferry trip and the fabulous scenery to arrive at Hunters Quay and Cowal. Once off the ferry, turn right onto the A815 for 2 miles. Turn right at a T-junction for the A815; after 3 miles turn right for the A880 taking you to Kilmun, Strone and Blairmore (5 miles). A 1/4 mile past Gairletter Caravan Park watch out for the signpost for Stronchullin Holiday Cottages on the left.

Alternative directions. From Glasgow, follow the M8 for Greenock. Take junction 30 for the Erskine Bridge and then the M898. Take the A82 for Crianlarich. At Tarbet, follow the A83, signposted for Campbeltown and turn left for the A815...
