Marcelay Beach house is a family owned vacation house situated on the unspoiled North shore of Prince Edward Island. The warm waters in the Gulf of St. Lawrence are only 50 yards from the door! At St. Margarets, the Bear River meets the ocean and gives the beach its name. The natural beauty of this shoreline presents a stunning view of red cliffs, sand dunes, and a pristine sandy beach. Marcelay faces the ocean and enjoys the immediate sound, smell, and beauty of the Gulf. Vacationing at Marcelay offers family and friends a chance to experience Prince Edward Island in all of its natural glory. Our spacious beach house was built in 1998 in a post and beam style with wrap-around decking and a screened in porch. Ample living space of 2000 sq. ft. ensures comfortable cohabitation! The main level features an open style ‘great room’ with cathedral ceilings and a wood burning stove. Impressive woodworking details in the pine interior incorporate 100-year-old beams. The house has plank flooring throughout and generous picture windows. The ocean is always in view with 25 feet of windows facing the beach and a sunset view from the screened porch. Marcelay is fully furnished and well equipped for family needs with a satellite TV, DVD, VCR, stereo, telephone and washer/dryer. The kitchen has modern appliances including microwave and conventional range. Outdoor cooking is enjoyed with a gas BBQ. All utensils, glassware, china, and cookware are provided. Meals are served at the harvest table or in the screened porch. High speed Internet and WiFi are provided. Marcelay has a three-bedroom arrangement (linen and bedding provided). The main floor bedroom has twin beds and a bathroom (with shower) across the hall. Upstairs the second bedroom has two double bunks and a half bath across the hall. The master bedroom (20 x 32 feet) has sweeping views of the beach and an ensuite, antique, tub and sink. The double bed is situated on a platform to take advantage of the view. High speed internet is provided. We have a stream filtering through the beach which is great for kids. The stream is always changing and kids love to play along or in the shallow stream. The ocean typically has a shallow bank off shore which again is great for swimming. Head to either end of the beach and snorkel near the rocks to see fish, lobster, etc. Several championship golf courses in the area including Links at Crowbush, Brudenell River and Dundarave. Also a 9 hole course near Souris which is great for kids of all ages. Walk the cliff to the next beach in Naufrage, a working fishing port, where they bring in tuna, lobster, etc. Lunch at the ship wreck cafe in Naufrage completes a nice afternoon outing, before your walk back to Marcelay. Golfing on PEI Home to over 26 golf courses, Prince Edward Island is rated as one of the world's best Islands by Travel and Leisure Magazine and Score Golf consistently rates the Island as one of the best golfing destinations in Canada. In November 2010 the International Association of Golf Operators (IAGTO) named Prince Edward Island the 2011 Undisovered Golf Destination of the Year. From Marceley you are within 45 minutes of the Island's most famous three, The Links at Crowbush Cove, Dundarave and Brudenell. The Links at Crowbush Cove, is rated in the top ten golf courses by Score Magazine, it overlooks the north shore dunes of PEI and has some of the Island's most spectacular views. Rated 4 ½ stars by Golf Digest, undulating fairways, water holes and ocean breezes provide the golfer with one of the Islands toughest challenges. Brudenell River Golf Course offers the golfer a unique combination of 6 par 3's, 6 par 4's and 6 par 5's. The golf course meanders along the Brudenell River and flowers are abundant at every hole. Golf Digest has given Brudenell 4 stars. Adjacent to Brudenell is one of the most challenging courses on the Island, Dundarave Golf Course. Here you better not forget your sand wedge, with over 110 sand traps you are sure to find at least one! Golf Digest has also awarded Dundarave a 4 star rating. Beyond the championship courses, Rollo Bay Greens on the south shore has a great nine hole golf course for beginners and the kids. This course is not long (2568 yards) but still rents golf carts, pull carts and L/R golf clubs. Smoking is allowed in the screened in porch. More

Enjoyed the open concept and isolation of this holiday rental. Even though the weather did not cooperate it was comfortable indoors. The beach was great but smaller than we are used to staying on. Our dog loved being able to run off leash. Only a...More
