The appartment is situated right in the center of an olive tree farm with peace and quiet, with its own private road from the main street all the way to the beach. There are taverns, pubs and a supermarket nearby. The nearest bus stop is 500m away, the bus routes take you to the center of Gytheio and to Mani as well to the rest of Greece.There is a radio taxi service as well.
When travelling from Athens to Gytheio you drive over the famous Corinth Canal, which separates the Peloponnese from mainland Greece. While staying in Gytheio you can organise day trips in the South of Peloponnese. You can visit the astonishing Caves of Diros, the Island of Cranae which is located in Gytheio, the Archaeological Museum and Olive Museum of Sparta , Mystras, Monemvasia Castle, Mani with its impressive Towers .... and many more await for you. I will provide you with maps, brochures and directions for the most amazing locations in the area.
Gytheio can be approached by car and by bus directly from Athens Airport and Greek ports.

Comfortable, quiet beach at arm's length
This apt is really top-notch if you are after a quiet and relaxed beach holiday in a rural setting yet at a comfort level very close to what you are used to at home in a larger city. The apt is in the basement of a large house surrounded by a vast olive and orange tree garden. The house belongs to Costa and Eva, the hosts, a very thoughtful and hospitable, English-speaking couple. Staying in the basement, you have your own entrance with a designated parking place just beside, and an ample space with three equipped bedrooms and a large living room, a small kitchen and a bathroom with a shower. Since it is a basement, there are only small windows on one side of the living room and in one of the bedrooms - so you need lights on in the apt at all times. The bed in the window-bedroom which we used is very large and comfortable, there is plenty of shelf space. Although the windows and the entrance door are equipped with mosquito nets, you are strongly advised to use mosquito protection inside. The kitchen is ok, a bit too small for two persons being there at once. There are two small fridges (maybe too small if you are more than two people) and one freezer. There is a quiet sandy beach some 100 metres away from the house. The hosts offer complementary beach chairs and a beach umbrella which is strongly recommended! Actually these arrangements make the whole beach life way easier. The toilet in the bathroom seems leaking from time to time, but this seemed a minor inconvenience against the background of a careless beach holiday. We are very grateful to Costa and Eva for having us in their house for two weeks and helping make our Greek holiday truly unforgettable.
