About the neighbourhood
VILLAS VERDES is located in the best part of town. Most of the good restaurants are within a stone's throw away by walking. Samara being a small town, has many good eating places. There are many good dining options to choose from. The most popular local dish is Casado. A dish of rice and beans, vegetables, fried plantains, and a choice of pork, chicken, beef, or fish. The main Medical Center is just at the corner from us, and there are also many souvenir shops, pubs, shopping, many supermarkets, as well as roadside fruit sellers, not forgetting the PIPA guy who goes around with his tricycle shouting 'PIPA!' - fresh coconut drink straight from the coconut.
One does not need a car in Samara. Everywhere is within walking distance. However, if you would like to go buy fresh fish, crab, octopus, or shrimps in Matapalo, we can always dial a cab for you. Playa Carrillo is also too far for walking. Again, you can either rent the bikes, take the taxi, or even hop on a bus! There are also ATVs for rental when you go through the swampy and rocky terrains. You can also find a bus stand which provides a service to Nicoya as well as Nosara.

How to get there
Airport: Daniel Oduber Airport, Liberia: 107.0 km
The nearest International Airport to arrive is in Liberia (Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport), which takes only 2 hours to get into Samara. The other airport, San Jose International Airport in San Jose takes about 5 hours by car. Alternatively, we can also arrange for a meet-and-greet service for you at your Arrival airport. If you are driving, we also provide free parking in our property. Should you arrive in the late afternoon or in the evening, it is more advisable to drive the next morning into Samara. Night driving is not advisable, as the streets are not brightly lit.
