INSIDE THE HOUSE This historic home oozes grace and charm. From the expansive front lawn, with a gazebo sitting pretty, to the wide porches that run the length of the home, there are plenty of places to sit and admire the view. When you do step over the doorstep, you’ll be struck by the space and elegance of the interior. An open plan living area is stocked with inviting couches and armchairs around a crackling fireplace. If you run out of snacks, the kitchen is just next door! Eat at the long wooden table, with casual bench-style dining, or head outside where picnic-style seating. And at the end of the day, you have your pick of bedrooms. There are five to choose from, offering a variety of queen, full-size, and twin beds in spacious wood-floored rooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom: Master: One twin bed and one full-size. Bedroom 2: Two full-size beds. Bedroom 3: One twin and one queen. Bedroom 4: Two full-size beds. Bedroom 5: One full-size bed. THE LOCATION This gorgeous house is set in a fittingly beautiful location, adjacent to Shoal Creek and only a block from Pease Park with its many hiking and biking trails to explore. It’s a mere 8 blocks to the University of Texas, where you’ll find the LBJ Presidential Library for a slice of history, and plenty of nightlife for afterwards. And don’t miss the State Capitol, just one mile away in all its architectural beauty. You’re also near the bus route if you want to head downtown without worrying about parking, so the world of Austin is truly your oyster! Let me start with the property itself - great location, cool house, has a few issues (3/5 showers did not work properly, a few roaches in the lower floor) that could be overlooked had the rental company, TurnKey Vacation Rentals, not been the absolute worst...More
