When the accommodation and the views and the people in the area all merge in a perfect slice of paradise, you know you are at Matere cottage in the Vumba.
None of us wanted to leave. It rained the first morning we were there but it was still unbelievably beautiful.
The cottage has two bedrooms that were open to us - a double and a twin. One shared full bathroom (toilet, shower and bath) with a separate toilet as well. The living room and dining room are underfurnished in an elegant way. Lots of tasteful little touches. Including a wonderful fireplace that just makes the whole place the definition of cozy.
The kitchen is amazingly equipped. As a vegetarian I am often sceptical about the pans in a self catering place as they never seem to be completely clean. But everything here was sparkling squeaky clean. There is a gas stove and an electric one. Both are dated but work just fine. There a filter in for drinking water.
