The Only Olive - An experience
The Only Olive - A charming, riverside, Portuguese style 3-bedroom colonial villa that gets its name from the olive tree in the garden rumoured to be a hundred years old - like the house itself.
The Only Olive is situated on a hillock with lovely views of the surrounding village. It is set in canvassed gardens filled with an abundance of fruit trees.
The property has been lovingly refurbished by its responsible owners who have ensured that the villa was restored to reflect its former colonial glory to perfection all the while retaining its inherent Portuguese influences - shell windows and a shared well included.
This Portuguese style house with its airy, high-ceiling ed living room has ceiling fans and is tastefully furnished with a combination of old fa...

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Mr
A great place to unwind and recharge your soul. The rustic ambience, the beautiful lines of this old Portuguese house will definitely make you feel like a native and at home. All in all a superb home stay experience. We are definitely coming back.

Ever since I set my eyes on The Olive in its website, I had wanted to stay there. It looked just the kinda place I would think of as a getaway, and that was what I had craved.
Nothing disappointed me ever. The villa has an exuberance of positive energy, love and warmth hanging around, it instantly calmed me – sort of removed me from reality. The antique furniture and the curios add much story-like charm to the house and it’s so damn cool and lovely within and without the house. You’re spoilt for choice when you step out and look around at the greenery. Inside the house I loved the four poster bed and the arm chair. The white, silk sheers around the four poster cot make it so romantic and the cot itself looks like an invaluable museum piece.
It’s so functionally and aesthetically located, so much that it’s just a lucky choice if you opt for it. We had a great time exploring the river side and walking around. We walked up to the local market, which is so close by, where you can begin and end your meals if you want. Such a thorough rustic experience. The bebinca and dos from Sebros are very good. Eating at Andron was delightful!!
Santhosh the caretaker and his family are really adorable. He’s a lovely cook, a simple daal bhaat or poha tastes delish. The drinking water tastes pure.
I stepped into this villa and I had this wave of contentment wash me over. It’s a great inland experience. And if you want the typical beaches (Baga, Calangute) just drive or bike over for 20 mins or so.

How to get there
Once you reach the Tinto Circle via the Aldona-Mapusa road take your left from the Edward Soares circle and go down on the Aldona-Quitila road. A little over a km down there's a pocket road on right and 100 mts in atop a hillock is the villa.
From the main road you would find Kimaya Apartments as the landmark.
