Holiday Rental House -
2 Bedrooms , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 5
Andover, New Hampshire
The charming 1780 farmhouse has the ambiance of an earlier time but also two comfortable bedrooms with queen sized beds and one and a half modern bathrooms. The en suite upstairs bedroom looks out to woods, garden, and mountain views in three directions. There is also a screened porch for relaxing. The Artist's House is furnished with an eclectic sellection of art, antiques, and books. Wood paneled rooms, braided rugs, and comfortable seating and beds will make you feel welcome.

This area is known for its traditional New England villages, scenic beauty, ancient mountains, rolling hills, lakes, and brilliant autumn foliage displays. It is wonderful hiking, walking, cross-country skiing, and bicycling country with great trails right from the door. Two bicycles come with the house and more can be hired. Skis can be hired too. T...

The Artist's house was a perfect location for a holiday in New Hampshire. The charming farmhouse was full of character yet provided for all modern needs. It was in a quiet, peaceful setting yet allowed easy access to all the sites in this part of New Hampshire. The foliage in the fall was magnificent and right on your doorstep. Whilst a car is essential there are trails to take from the farmhouse and many other activities in close proximity.
The owners (Susan and Andy) were extremely friendly and, living just down the road, were on hand (when required) to be helpful and informative. We spent a few days at the farmhouse in the fall and just wish that we had booked for a longer period.
We would recommend the Artist's house highly and we would not hesitate to re-book it for a longer period in the future.

About the neighbourhood
The Artist's House is on a quiet country road nestled against a large area of unbroken forest, and on a hillside that faces Ragged Mountain. Kearsarge Mountain can be seen in the distance from the nearby roads, and there are easily followed trails to the summit in two nearby state parks. The local roads serve as good walking trails as traffic is generally light.

A stream at the bottom of the hill leads to a waterfall 1.5 miles upstream. There are three bodies of water in the neighborhood, and kayaks or canoes can be hired. There is a town beach on the largest lake, and several golf courses and ski areas within a 30 minutes drive. The bicycle trail that follows the old railway is easily accessed from the house.

The house is located between the villages of Andover and East Andover...
